Using IRC
Pidgin -- http://pidgin.im/ -- works on Windows or Linux.- In Pidgin, go to add/edit accounts and click Add.
- Protocol: IRC
- Screen name: whatever you want that to be
- Server: irc.indymedia.org
- (everything else can be blank)
- Then on the Advanced tab:
- Port: 994
- check "Use SSL"
- (everything else can be blank)
- When you save and enable this account you now have a secure encrypted chat session!
- Type "/join #madpenguins" to get on the channel.
- Try "/help" for help.
